Work-related stress: the impact of COVID-19 on critical care and redeployed nurses: a mixed-methods study

Introduction We need to understand the impact of COVID-19 on critical care nurses (CCNs) and redeployed National Health Service (NHS) organisations. Methods analysis This is a mixed-methods study (QUANT-QUAL), underpinned by theoretical model occupational stress, Job Demand-Resources Model (JD-R). Participants are from Scottish three large English units. Phase 1 cross-sectional survey in part replicating pre-COVID-19 results will be compared with this data. Linear logistic regression examine relationship between antecedent, demographic professional variables health impairment (burnout syndrome, mental health, post-traumatic stress symptoms), motivation (work engagement, commitment) organisational outcomes (intention remain nursing quality care). also assess usefulness range resources provided NHS To allow in-depth exploration individual experiences, phase 2 one-to-one semistructured interviews 25 CCNs 10 nurses.
